Valk Quit Running
I was almost home and the motor stopped making power.
NO mechanical noise.
The lights all work.
No blown fuses.
Good battery.
Now,when I hit the starter the lights dim but there is no relay click.
When I bypass the relay it turns over but doesn't start.
Yes,the kill button is on RUN.
The sidestand light goes on & off when I move it.
Idea's ?
Maybe corroded wiring harness plugs ?
thanks,
John

Re: Valk Quit Running
Oh well.That wasn't it.
She quits runnin' when she warms up.
If I press the starter the lights dim like always.
If I short out the starter solenoid she spins but no spark !
Seems like power to the electronics cuts out.
The bike runs great when it runs.
Is it likely that the wiring harness plugs are corroded ?
Less likely that there is a broken wire somewhere ?
Bad ground somewhere ?
Thanks for lookin' & helping !

Is anyone here ?

Re: Valk Quit Running
Maybe a bad relay ??
You need to find when it shuts down is it Spark or Fuel ??
If it's fuel Check the T that sits behind the seat lock..
If they get mud daubers in there the Vacuum isn't working right.. Just a thought...
Or something is heating up.. Maybe check the diode...

Re: Valk Quit Running
It's not fuel.
The motor cuts out,the lights stay on.
If I bypass the starter solonoid she spins with no spark.
When running she runs well.

Re: Valk Quit Running
I'm off-base even POSTING here, but it's evident that the ignition circuit (such that it is) is the only culprit; not charging system or on-deck applications,
such as your automatic butt-wipers, trapezoid massagers or other electronic amenities you Wingers enjoy over us "motor plus wheels" guys.
Back to basics in my database says the KISS principle works the most often- hit all associated connections (electricians dialectric grease comes to mind),
and only THEN, begin to imagine device malfunctions, like CPS or worse still, ECU or coils.
Just bored reading and willingness to help where I may. -gary.

I would look at the coils. Sound like they are getting hot and not working. Just a thought:shrug:
