Hey guys, long time since I have been around, but just went Darkside on my 2000 Valkyrie Interstate with a Goodyear Assurance Triple Tread 205/55/R16.

Had the dealer mount it and it was a fight to get them to finish the job.
Supposedly I should not have to do the cage nut mod for this size of tire.
I am a big guy @ 325 lbs.

Got the tire on and it rubs on the right side nut.

Took the bags/seat off to look and see if I just needed to do the cage nut mod.
I noticed the wheel was not centered in the fender.

It is definitely close to the right side where it is rubbing.

I'll try to load some pics but I am wondering if this is due to a bad install as everything I have read says this tire will not rub and does not require the cage nut mod.

Not sure about Valks, but I've seen an 1800 that had to have the fender recentered because of rubbing.

Well, ended up taking the whole thing apart and did the cage nut mod.
Now it only rubs 2-up on left turns.

Shock bushings are shot. Also going to try adjusting the rear shocks.

You could have gone with a 195/60-16 and that should have fit with no mod's.
I'm running a 185/75-16 on my ACE Tourer and that one might have fit your bike with no mod's.

If this is your first c/t on that bike I would run 100 miles on it then start taking air out till you get a wobble. Then put some air back in(2 to 4 psi) and call it good. If you get the wobble it should start higher up in the speed zone as the air pressure goes up. I add air to my rear tire when the wobble comes back at around 75 mph. It's like I have a built in low air pressure warning on my bike. LOL
