CT for '83 Venture?

Any recommendations for a good CT to use on a stock 1983 Venture? I'm putting a sidehack on it, the old Dunlop needs replacing anyway and I just can't see paying big for a bike tire when I can pay smart for a CT. I'm also going DS on the chair (gotta replace the spindle first and get a new hub, though!)

The rear tire size is MU90B 16 78H (it's an oldie - the bike sat for a number of years before I woke it up last summer), and the rim is J16xMT3.00. I don't know how much wider I can fit in there. I also have a rear wheel from a '78 XS1100. Anyone know if it'd be useful here, or would it even fit?

That size is approximately a 140/70/16 on a 3" wide rim.
Unless you have a ton of clearance, with a 16" rim, I'm afraid you won't find a modern car tire that will fit. Sorry...
