I used this tire on two of my VTX's and really liked them. Anyone here using one on their GL1800 wing? And if so, does it change the accuracy of spedometer?
Thanks
Dino

Try going to this forum, they are good about responding to questions about 1800 Wings.

Dino, the popular size for GL1800 is a 195/55/16.
I've never heard of anybody using a 205 on a Wing... Will it fit?

The is a post on the gl1800 riders darkside forum about an ole boy did 210 miles on his with 6 psi of air in it.

See you out there

Very good smokey! That confirms it for me. The Goodyear tire is a a fantastic tire and does great in the rain and snow. I got caught in a sudden snow storm with my X. I rode the last 3 miles on fresh snow/ice with no problems. Not recommended, but the bike and tire did well. I will probably go that route with my wing.

Smokey2255-- You still running that Goodyear TT 205/60 on your Wing? I am going dark and want a 205 also to true up the speedo and give me more clearance. Any issues since 3/29/2011?

I started with a 205/55/16 on my 2004 Goldwing.  It worked but I did not like it.  The extra width could really be felt.  It felt like I did not need the kickstand, just get off and leave it standing there.  Turning corners was not a joy either.  Just too wide.  That is when I found the 195/65/16, in fact, I think I was the first to try it.  It is the best all around tire, not too wide, tall enoufh to fix the speedp error.  Lots of guys use the 195/55/16, but only because they have not tried the 195/65/16.  One other thing.  I understand the 2010 models and newer have correct speedometers, so they don't need a taller tire.  If you have a later model, use the 195/55/16.  It is the closest size (height) to the factory tire, so it will not mess up your speedometer. Last thing. i found that about 31-32lbs air works best.  Wallacem

@ Wallacem, Glad you responded. My Wing is a 02 model. I currently run Dunlop E 3's in a 180/70/16 which trues up the speedometer pretty good. On the factor size tire the speed was off about 5 mph at 70mph.  I was looking at the 205/60/16 but have seen where it rubs or some are grinding on the swingarm.....not going to do that at all. nope   I like you heard about the 195/65/16 but can't find one.  That tire trues up the speedometer better than a 205/60 does.  What kind do you have and  where did you get it?  confused  Ready to get this over with banghd  but just don't want to go with a 195/55/16.  I am ready to go to the Dark side.......Vader   Thanks in advance for the info.Very Happy

Gene, I looked and clicked on all areas and it was actually 2 tires made by the same company and they were snow tires, one for a van. Continental has/had one but one site said they didn't make it anymore.  (By the way....love your state, been there 3 times in the past yr and a half. Got 2 cousins in the Springs and one in Grand Junction. Great place to ride.)

Wallacem, did your 205/60 rub any on your bike? Looks awfully close under there.........

Thanks guys, keep me posted if you find anything else and I'm going to keep looking here.

I just found several 195/65/16 tires on Ebay.  Also on Performance Plus Tires. I found them by simply putting "195/65/16 tire" in Google. You can find them. Wallacem
